We were pleased to host another fantastic Canadian Client Consultation Competition this year at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law. We extend our sincere thanks to the University of Victoria for being such wonderful hosts and to Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP for their generous sponsorship.
We would also like to acknowledge with respect the Lekwungen peoples on whose traditional territory the University of Victoria stands, and the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
This year’s finals featured three outstanding teams: Kennedy Strike and Meghan Damrell from Toronto Metropolitan University, Jasmine El-Issa and Ansh Gulati from the University of Alberta, and Anika Chowdhury and Farid Ali from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Congratulations to Jasmine El-Issa and Ansh Gulati on placing first. We also congratulate their coaches, Lynn Parish and Ferryl Shadlyn. Jasmine and Ansh will represent Canada next month at the BM-International Client Consultation Competition in Croatia.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the many community lawyers who generously volunteered their time to judge the competition, as well as the client actors who helped bring the consultation scenarios to life. Their willingness to take time out of their busy schedules is essential to making the competition possible and ensuring a meaningful learning experience for participating students.
We look forward to next year’s Canadian Client Consultation Competition!
